Holders Brazil virtually booked their place in the semi-finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup with a comprehensive victory over 10-man USA in Pretoria. Brazil took the lead after five minutes when Fiorentina's Felipe Melo rose highest to head home a Douglas Maicon right-wing free-kick. Robinho side-footed in Brazil's second, finishing off a sweeping counter-attacking move following a USA corner. USA's Sacha Kljestan was sent off for fouling Ramirez and Inter's Maicon chipped in a third goal for Brazil. Brazil will now round off their Group B fixtures against Italy on Sunday, while a disappointing tournament for America will come to a close against Egypt.
