UEFA Euro U21 2009 Azzurrini Calendar
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have released the full itinerary for the Italy Under-21s in the build up to the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championships in Sweden, with dates and times to press conferences, media and sponsor events, travel and match arrangements, training and other delegation duties that will take place from June 1 up to the end of the tournament.

Events, dates and times may change at short notice. All times listed are UK time (+1hr for Italy/CET).


Monday 1 June
Italy coach Pierluigi Casiraghi will confirm his final 23-man squad for the European Under-21 Championships and hand the official list to UEFA.

Wednesday 3 June
11:00 – The 23-man squad and the rest of the Italian delegation will gather at La Borghesiana sports centre in Rome.
12:15 approx. – Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi will meet with the press.
16:30 - Training.

Thursday 4 June
09:30 - Training.
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press.
16:30 - Training.

Friday 5 June
09:30 - Training.
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press.
16:00 - Official team photographs.
16:30 - Training.

Saturday 6 June
09:30 - Training.
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press.
16:30 - Training.

Sunday 7 June
09:30 - Training.
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press.
16:30 - Training.

Monday 8 June
Afternoon - Charter flight departing from Rome to Helsingor (Denmark), and subsequent transfer to their pre-tournament base at the Marienlyst Hotel.
17:30 - Training (open to the press for the first 15 minutes) at the Helsingor sports centre.

Tuesday 9 June
17:00 - Denmark v Italy at the Farum Park Stadium in Farum. The coach and players will meet with the press after.

Wednesday 10 June
12:15 approx. - The players will be available to the press at the Marienlyst Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Helsingor sports centre.

Thursday 11 June
12:15 approx. - The players will be available to the press at the Marienlyst Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Helsingor sports centre.

Friday 12 June
12:15 approx. - The players will be available to the press at the Marienlyst Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Helsingor sports centre.

Saturday 13 June
Morning - Charter flight departing from Helsingor (Denmark) to Helsingborg (Sweden), and subsequent transfer to their tournament base at the Elite Marina Plaza Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Sunday 14 June
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press at the Marina Plaza Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Monday 15 June
15:30 - The official pre-match UEFA press conference at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg.
16:30 - Training (open to the press for the first 15 minutes) at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg.

Tuesday 16 June
1945 - Italy v Serbia at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg. Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi and players will meet the press after.

Wednesday 17 June
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press at the Marina Plaza Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Thursday 18 June
12:15 approx. - The official pre-match UEFA press conference at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg.
16:30 - Training (open to the press for the first 15 minutes) at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Friday 19 June
15:00 - Sweden v Italy at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg. Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi and players will meet the press after.

Saturday 20 June
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press at the Marina Plaza Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Sunday 21 June
12:15 approx. - The coach and players will be available to the press at the Marina Plaza Hotel.
16:30 - Training at the Harlyckans sports centre.

Monday 22 June

Tuesday 23 June
19:45 - Belarus v Italy at the Olympia Stadium in Helsingborg. Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi and players will meet the press after.


The rest of the itinerary depends on Italy's performance in the group stage. If they fail to finish in the top two positions in Group A, they will return back to Italy on Wednesday 24 June. If Italy qualify for the semi-finals...

Thursday 25 June
12:15 approx. - The official pre-match UEFA press conference at TBC.
16:30 - Training (open to the press for the first 15 minutes) at TBC.

Friday 26 June
17:00 or 19:45 - Semi-final tie in Gothenburg or Helsingborg. Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi and players will meet the press after.


The rest of the itinerary depends on Italy's performance in the semi-finals. If they fail to reach the final, they will return back to Italy on Saturday 27 June. If Italy qualify for the Final...

Sunday 28 June
12:15 approx. - The official pre-match UEFA press conference at the New Malmo Stadium in Malmo.
16:30 - Training (open to the press for the first 15 minutes) at the New Malmo Stadium in Malmo.

Monday 29 June
19:45 - Final in Malmo. Coach Pierluigi Casiraghi and players will meet the press after.

Tuesday 30 June
Italy will return back home.
