[Confed Cup] Brazil 4-3 Egypt

Group B - Matchday 1
BRAZIL 4-3 EGYPT
Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein
A last-minute Ricardo Kaka penalty spared Brazil's blushes as they beat battling Egypt in the FIFA Confederations Cup. Real Madrid's new signing had earlier slotted the opener before Mohamed Zidan headed an equaliser for Egypt. Brazil's Luis Fabiano and Juan nodded in a goal apiece before half-time, but Egypt scored twice in a minute through Mohamed Shawky and Zidan to level. Ahmed El Mohamady was sent off for a deliberate handball and Kaka secured victory with a coolly-taken penalty.

Brazil: Cesar, Alves, Lucio, Juan, Kleber (Santos 83), Melo, Elano (Ramires 64), Silva, Kaka, Fabiano, Robinho (Pato 64).
Egypt: El Hadari, Gomaa, Moawad, Said Ahmed, Said, Fathi, Abd Rabou (El Mohamady 76), Shawky, Hassan (Eid 52), Aboutreika, Zidan.
