[Euro 2008] Azzurri Calendar

Azzurri Calendar
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) have released the full itinerary for the national team in the build up to the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament in Austria and Switzerland, with dates and times to press conferences, media and sponsor events, travel and match arrangements, training and other delegation duties that will take place from May 20 up to the end of the group phase of the tournament.

Events, dates and times may change at short notice. All times listed are UK time (+1hr for Italy/Switzerland/Austria/CET).


Tuesday 20 May 2008
14:00 - Press conference will be held at the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Rome for the announcement of the provisional Italy squad by coach Roberto Donadoni and FIGC President Giancarlo Abete.

Sunday 25 May 2008
11:00 – All provisional squad members and the rest of the Italian delegation will gather at the FIGC’s Technical Centre in Coverciano.
12:30 approx. – Coach Roberto Donadoni and players will meet with the press.
16:30 - Training (open to the press).

Monday 26 May 2008
09:30 - Training (open to the press).
12:30 approx. – Players will meet with the press.
16:30 - Training (behind closed doors).

Tuesday 27 May 2008
12:30 approx. – Players will meet with the press.
15:00 – Official team photographs with the squad sporting their Dolce & Gabbana suits and Puma kits will be taken.
16:30 - Training (open to the press).

Wednesday 28 May 2008
09:30 - Training (open to the press).
12:00 – Official 23-man squad list must be handed to UEFA before the deadline.
12:30 approx. – Coach Roberto Donadoni and players will meet with the press.
16:30 - Training (behind closed doors).

Thursday 29 May 2008
16:30 - Training at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence. Coach Roberto Donadoni and players will meet with the press after.

Friday 30 May 2008
19:50 – Italy v Belgium at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence. Coach Roberto Donadoni and players will meet with the press after. The squad has the rest of the day and Saturday 31 May 2008 officially off from duty.

Sunday 1 June 2008
23:00 – Official 23-man squad and the rest of the Italian delegation will gather at the Grand Malpensa Hotel in Milan.

Monday 2 June 2008
Morning - Charter flight departing from Malpensa Airport in Milan to Vienna (Austria), and subsequent transfer to their tournament base - the Schloss Weikersdorf Hotel in Baden.
15:00 - Press conference will be held by the Technical Commissioner at the Bettfedernfabrik Cultural Centre (the "Casa Azzurri") in Oberwaltersdorf.
16:30 - Training (open to the press) at the Sudstadt sports centre in Maria Enzersdorf.

19:45 - Netherlands v Italy at the Stade de Suisse in Berne. Coach Roberto Donadoni and players will meet the press after and make the return trip to their tournament base in Baden.
